 Rana dedicated his 30-year career to the Nepal Police and rose to the position of Additional Inspector General of Police (AIGP) the second highest position in the national police service. He has visited all 77 districts of Nepal, is familiar with the religion, culture, language, tradition, climatic conditions and geo-political situation of the country. He has taught 31 courses including Girls Trafficking and Child Sexual Exploitation, Water Crossing and Rescue, International Humanitarian Law, Planning and Management, Management of Disaster and Civil Emergency, Hostage Negotiation, Anti-Terrorism and IOC solidarity course. In his official capacity, Rana served in senior liaison roles with police forces in 20 countries in North America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. Physically he had visited United States (Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Washington DC, New Mexico, Alwakarky, California, Las Vegas, Hawaii, Pennsylvania, New York, Boston), Dominican Republic, South Africa, Tanzania, Egypt, Qatar, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Finland, France, Sweden, UAE, Turkey, India, Singapore, Bangladesh, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, China (Mainland, Hong Kong, Macau). He established a solid reputation for his incorruptible commitment to integrity. He founded a Nepal-wide social organization that commanded the respect of more than 37,000 young people. He is Author of a book “Pida Bhitra ka Katha” published in Nepali Language and was the editor of police journal Prahari. He has been awarded four major awards and holds nine medals for outstanding meritorious service. He is fluent in Nepali, Hindi, and English. Rana holds MA from TU Nepal and PhD degree from Mewar University in Rajasthan, India.
